For us to honor and pay respect to those that have served, we worked closely with a team of experts, educators, and designers to develop the Warriors In Uniform site through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. The website and database provides students, teachers, and the American public with information and educational material about the critical role Native American service members played in our nation’s military, celebrating their contributions, courage, and patriotism. Veterans or their families can add their profiles to the database or use the resource area for veteran’s services.

For more than 250 years, Native Americans have served our nation’s military. These patriotic men and women have been on the front lines serving our country and continuing a proud warrior tradition passed down from generation to generation. Native Americans model extraordinary patriotism, sacrifice, bravery, and heroism in the face of the enemy, and often despite poverty and social injustice at home. Warriors in Uniform, these are their stories.
